Breathing
It is important to keep your horse’s respiratory system healthy. Equine emphysema, chronic cough, and exercise-induced pulmonary hemorrhage can all be triggered or worsened by environmental factors such as weather changes, dust, and pollen, which may increase respiratory sensitivity in horses.
Arbalou Soins, made in France, offers a wide range of equine supplements designed to support the horse’s respiratory system. Available in balm, herbal powders, pellets, liquid syrups, or nebulization solutions, these products provide targeted support adapted to different respiratory conditions, both preventively and curatively.
The goal is to help relieve chronic cough, equine emphysema, and acute coughing episodes while supporting overall respiratory comfort and function.
Discover our range of horse feed supplements as well as our equine deworming products.

Discover each natural product adapted to the specific needs of every horse: my horse is coughing, my horse has emphysema, my horse has nasal discharge… A wide range of herbal-based natural solutions is available to support your horse’s respiratory well-being on a daily basis.
Our “A Breath of Fresh Air” horse box combines three natural and complementary products designed to support respiratory comfort in horses. The French manufacturing of our equine supplements for sport horses and breeding horses ensures high quality standards and strict control, including the selection of plants used in our formulas.
How to interpret symptoms of equine emphysema in horses
Equine emphysema affects the horse’s breathing capacity, forcing the animal to engage the abdominal muscles more strongly in order to expel inhaled air. The horse becomes easily out of breath during exercise and, in more advanced cases, may be unable to perform normal work or even maintain a normal lifestyle.
Other signs that may indicate emphysema in horses include more dilated nostrils than usual, regular nasal discharge, persistent coughing, shortness of breath during activity, and a decline in body condition.
It is essential to closely observe the horse’s behavior and reactions in order to detect early warning signs, such as weight loss, abnormal respiratory sounds, increased heart rate, and in some cases, nasal bleeding.
