Arbalou Curcumalgues for Horses is our formula* specifically developed to support equine joint comfort, particularly in horses with digestive sensitivities for whom conventional options such as devil’s claw may not be suitable. Our unique blend combines highly bioavailable curcumin, marine algae and essential fatty acids to optimise joint flexibility and support horses affected by ageing, training or mechanical strain.

Why combine turmeric with piperine (pepper extract)?

Maintaining mobility and joint flexibility is important for both sport horses and senior horses. Arbalou Curcumalgues addresses this need through a combination of carefully selected natural ingredients.

Our formula is based on an important but often overlooked consideration: turmeric alone* does not provide a significant effect on joint comfort in horses. Its active compound, curcumin, has naturally very low bioavailability, which considerably limits its absorption and availability for systemic effects.

Unfortunately, many supplement brands make inaccurate claims on this subject. This is why it is important to seek advice from professionals with recognised scientific qualifications.

    Arbalou Curcumalgues therefore combines:

This combination considerably improves curcumin absorption, making the formula available for use by the horse’s body.

An alternative for horses with digestive sensitivities

Arbalou Curcumalgues was developed for horses with digestive sensitivities, including ulcers or diarrhoea, or for whom certain plants such as devil’s claw are not desired.

Our formula offers a comprehensive alternative that respects digestive balance while targeting joint comfort. It is particularly suitable for:

    • Horses with sensitive stomachs
    • Horses that do not tolerate certain traditional herbal roots, such as devil’s claw
    • Long-term joint support programmes

    These algae provide:

    • Essential trace elements
    • Natural antioxidants

They contribute to the overall nutritional balance needed for normal joint function.

    Lithothamnium — a calcareous alga

Rich in calcium, lithothamnium contributes to bone strength and supports the horse’s mineral balance.

What is the difference between Arbalou Curcumalgues and pure Arbalou Turmeric?

Arbalou Curcumalgues combines turmeric, piperine, algae and marine-derived ingredients, whereas pure turmeric contains only the plant and acts solely locally in the stomach.

Curcumalgues comes in pellets to support joint comfort and mobility in horses.

These products are not interchangeable gram for gram: their compositions and feeding recommendations differ.

Can Arbalou Curcumalgues be combined with Arbalou Chondro +?

This combination may be considered to bring together different ingredients in a nutritional joint support programme. Curcumalgues provides turmeric and algae, among other ingredients, while Chondro + provides glucosamine, chondroitin, MSM and marine collagen.

The suitability of this combination depends on the horse’s diet and individual needs. Seek advice and provide details of any supplements or medication already being given.

How long does a tub of Arbalou Curcumalgues last?

This depends on the daily amount fed: 60 g or 30 g, according to the feeding instructions. One full measure provides 60 g; half a measure provides 30 g.
